The momentum gears up towards Johannesburg, South Africa for the African Women in Dialogue (AfWID). A Pan-African women’s convening that brings together over 1000 women across all 55 African countries for a five day inclusive dialogue that seeks to amplify women’s contributions towards the continental development and international agenda.
In the Central African subregion, Women for a change, Cameroon (Wfac) has been coordinating and mobilizing women from the subregion to actively and meaningfully engage in the AfWID discussions. Drawing from its remarkable contributions and leadership that saw women from the subregion represented at the AfWID 2019, Wfac has remained an active subregional coordinator for the AfWID. This January, over 144 women across the Central African region will be participating at this year’s AfWID in South Africa, with 16 women representing Cameroon.
This year’s forum seeks to continue from where it left off; amplifying the voices of African women and creating an inclusive space for women around the continent to discuss, reflect, reenergize and strategize on how to tackle women’s issues across the continent.
